METHODOLOGY — HOW DATA EARNS ITS DATE
How every product tier on this site earns its verification date.
● SOURCE HIERARCHY
- 01 Official Product Disclosure Sheets (PDS) — the insurer's own per-product document, captured at access time.
- 02 Official insurer product pages — used when the PDS does not state a field, with the access date recorded.
- 03 Regulator / industry releases — BNM, LIAM, PIAM, MTA — for market context (e.g. MHIT reform), always with a source URL.
- 04 Community reports — never used. This site publishes only documented, sourced facts.
● WHAT "VERIFIED" MEANS HERE
- ▸ Every tier row carries a verified_at date — the day a researcher confirmed the data against its source URL.
- ▸ Every row carries a source URL — you can click through and check us.
- ▸ Fields the source does not state are marked "not disclosed" — never guessed, never estimated.
- ▸ Fields that do not apply are marked "n/a" — a different fact from "not disclosed".
- ▸ Premiums are never published. Malaysian insurers quote-gate premiums by age, health and claims history. We compare documented benefits only.
● FRESHNESS CYCLE
Product data is re-verified on a quarterly cycle (141 tiers across 46 products and 18 insurers as of the last sweep), plus event-driven checks when BNM announces reform (e.g. MHIT), or when an insurer launches or withdraws a product. When a benefit changes, the row is updated with a new verification date and the change is recorded in the Malaysia Medical Card Change Index — the old value is never silently edited.
